Owls Home Learning 29.06.20

Date: 28th Jun 2020 @ 5:14pm

Good morning Owl Class and happy Monday!

I hope you had a lovely weekend! Benson met my niece and nephew of Saturday and then he met my Godson and his little brother on Sunday. He was so excited to meet everyone - he kept running around and licking people. He then fell fast asleep for hours!

I've been super impressed with how hard you've been working on IXL - you've answered nearly 17,000 questions!

Today's home learning is:

English - To look at chapter three of The Firework Maker's Daughter and make inferences.

Maths is to describe the position of an object:

There is a worksheet at the end of the lesson, but if you want to practise more, you can look on IXL:

Maths - Year 2 - Spatial Sense - P1, P2

English - Year 2 - Contractions - T1, T2

For today's writing, I would like you to write silly sentences! First, you need to write 5 nouns on separate pieces of paper, then 5 adjectives and 5 verbs. Fold them up so you can't see them and then pick one from each pile and turn them into sentences:

Here is my example:

Noun - banana

Adjective - beautiful

Verb - danced

The beautiful banana danced to the music on the radio.

Either take photographs of your writing and show them on your blog, or type you sentences into a blog post. I'm looking forward to reading your silly sentences!

Check the discussion for this week's spellings.

This week's afternoon learning is:

Have a happy Monday Owl Class!

Star of the Week – Swallows

GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL!

Well done Phoebe! This has been a smashing week for you Phoebe, you have well and truly rounded off this week’s learning in style and shown some outstanding independence along the way.  Although we are not in the same ‘bubble’, you have shown that you can truly stand on your own two feet, something I am extremely proud of you for. You have supported your siblings well, been able to show off some fantastic dancing in school alongside your ‘Olympics’ -themed heptathlon and done this all whilst wearing the finest smile! Mr Dean has told me some wonderous things about how you have interacted, using manners, added to loads of positivity, and hopefully this will help to start the weekend off well! Keep it up Phoebe, I am really proud of your effort!

I know some of you are out there each day, ‘digging’ away at your home learning in whatever form it comes in! Please know that me and Mrs Roberts are so very proud of you Swallows, keep up that hard work and it will all be worth it. You will coem back even stronger in Septmeber! Keep up this fabulous attitude, our thoughts are with you all…

Enjoy yourselves this weekend, spread your wings Swallows!

Good morning Owl Class and happy Friday!

I promised that I would keep you updated about Benson and how he got on. He's had a great day - we played a lot in the garden, though we kept having to come inside as it was very hot for him. He drank plenty of water to keep hydrated and enjoyed snoozing in the shade! Here he is sitting down in the shade after having a run around:

We've had lots of super learning at home this week! Lots of people have made superhero masks, written character descriptions about Evil Pea from Supertato and one person has even conducted some Science lessons!

Keep up the wonderful work Owl Class, it makes me so happy to see how hard you are all working!
