Nursery Star of the Week

Good Morning,

Well done to all of the children who were nominated in the golden book!

Congratulations to Dougie who is our Star of the Week this week.

Dougie has worked so hard every day since he has been back in school and has shown a lot of resilience with his challenges. He takes pride in his own achievements as well as others and is a kind friend to everybody.
Dougie, you are a great role model and we are very proud of how much you have grown this year. Well done!

Good morning penguins! 

We have had another great week this week in school and at home.  You continue to really impress me with how hard you are trying to progress your learning.  Just need to see a few more blogs from some of you at home.

Maths

Just like yesterday use what you have learnt this week to see what number the robot needs to hold to make the number in his tummy.  You did really well at this yesterday.

Challenge: can you write what you have found as number sentences?

  

Literacy

Spellings Friday!  Can you get your grownup to test you on your spellings and then choose at least 2 of them to write in sentences?

Challenge:  Add an adjective or conjunction to make your sentence even better.

Hope you are all ok, I can’t believe another week is nearly over. I added a blog yesterday about all the great Gruffalo work, its also got a little challenge if you want one!

Recap on part part whole again by watching Monday’s video.  Can you solve these robot problems below.  Even though they are robots it is still the same as part part whole, imagine the robots stood on their heads!

Challenge: can you write what you have found as number sentences?

Today we are going to look at writing the long ‘ar’ sound.  Watch the video and follow the instructions.

Penguin Gruffalo's

We have been looking at The Gruffalo story this week in school and I have been amazed by the amazing art work the children have produced.  I then set you at home a challenge of making a Gruffalo and you have blown me away your Gruffalo pictures are fab!  I have add some of the ones from school and home for you to see!

Penguin Gruffalo’s

Look at these brilliant cut and stick Gruffalo's the children have made in school, they worked really hard using their scissor skills to cut out the different shapes. 
I would love to see your Gruffalo's at home if you make one.

This week we have been looking at The Gruffalo in school, I have added the story for you to watch.  I loved reading you this one! Yesterday we made some cut and stick Gruffalo’s in school (I will add them to the blog for you to see).  Could you make a model of the Gruffalo at home?  I would love to see them if you do!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready for another week of learning and growing our brains.  

Maths

We are continuing to look at part part whole this week but are going to write the numbers in the part space and see if we can count on in our head and using a numberline.  This is quite tricky so if you haven’t quite mastered drawing the circles to find the missing number, work on that instead until you can do that confidently and independently.   Watch the video and have a go.  Once you’ve watched the video, how many ways can you find to make 10 and then 11?

Good Morning Everybody!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend celebrating Father's Day.

I was very busy this weekend as it was my Dad's birthday AND Father's Day! I baked him a cake and went to play golf with him on Saturday but had to stop because we got caught in all the rain!

Amelia!

Amelia has been such a fantastic role model to everybody in school since some of us have come back. She has been a very busy bee, taking on every challenge and trying her very best all the time. Amelia is a lovely friend to everybody in Penguins and she has been a  star! Keep it up Amelia!

Penguin's Zogs

We have been reading zog in the afternoons in school. We then practised our cutting skills by making some amazing cut and stick dragons.  Aren't they amazing?
