What a wonderful way to kick off 2020, this morning we were treated to a pantomime, The Wizard of Oz. The children really enjoyed it. Thank you to the PTA for organising this event.

This morning we came into a little bit of a mess, Snowball the elf has visited over night and made a little bit of a mess.

This week we have been looking at performing our writing to an audience. The children used iPads to find pictures and then recorded their voices over the pictures, reading their letter to Father Christmas, to make a video. Miss Woodward was so impressed with how well the children followed instructions in order to make their movie. Well done Robins!

This morning, we have had a very special visitor in the Robins class. Father Christmas came to help us with some questions that we had to ask. He even gave us our first Christmas present, a book, The Christmas Show. Thank you very much for coming to visit!

This morning we placed our decorations on to the Christmas tree in the hall. They look fantastic!

This term we have been looking at ball skills, including throwing, catching and racquet skills. The children have been looking at controlling the ball and passing to each other.

Today we have been back to the ‘Round Robin’ supermarket! We bought items from the shop and calculated what change we would get from 50p or £1.

Today we opened up our brand new supermarket – Round Robin.
We spent the lesson training up our new staff so that they can give the correct amount of change to their satisfied customers.

As part of Remembrance Day, we have placed our poppies (made as part of Big Question last week) in the garden in order to remember those who fought and died in the war.

This afternoon, we have been researching the countries of the UK and finding out where they are geographically. We made the outline of the UK using play dough and labelled the countries.

Great to see some fantastic homework coming into Robins class this week. The children have shown great enthusiasm describing what they have done at home. The effort that has clearly gone into them is outstanding!

What a fantastic start to our Geography topic, this afternoon we have been finding out about continents and oceans. The children were given a balloon and an atlas to make their very own globe! Some fantastic discussion about where the continents should be placed. Well done Robins!

Today, as part of our maths lesson, we looked at the value of the coin. Using money, we came up with ways to make different values, using a variety of coins. Very impressive work!

This morning we have been treated to a large inflatable in the hall. We’ve had great fun and some true sportsman ship cheering each other on!

This afternoon we looked at creating abstract self portraits using the computers. The children worked in pairs to come up with their own self portraits. As you can see we had some fantastic outcomes!

This afternoon we have been using the xylophones, looking at the C note. The children showed great teamwork helping their partner find the note.

This week we have been looking at acrostic poems, we got into table groups to write our very own acrostic poem about fireworks. Some great vocabulary was generated from the children.
