Here is our Star of the Week. We are so proud of the resilience he has shown this week! There have been lots of changes, which isn't always easy, but he's adapted really well and produced some super work. Keep up the hard work and enjoy wearing the golden jumper, I know how proud you will be of yourself!

Digital Literacy

Today Owls class began their new 'Computing' topic - Digital Literacy. 

Over the next few weeks we will be developing our typing skills as we create an information book about 'The Great Fire of London.

Owls - Bonfire poem

On Thursday, to celebrate Bonfire Night, we recited the famous poem:

The 5th of November

Gunpowder, treason and plot

I see no reason

Should ever be forgot

Digital Citizenship.

Owls have been learning about how to use the Internet safely.  We have created a digital footprint of how we use the Internet,  practised writing emails within the safety of Purple Mash and learnt how people can change their identity on line to try and trick us!  We also practised leaving kind comments on our friends work on Seesaw. 

 We have really enjoyed our Computing topic - Digital Citizenship.

Owls Big Question

This week we've been looking at British Values and what they are. We drew them round our fingers to try and help us remember them.

Democracy - we vote by putting our thumbs up and down

Rule of Law - we use our Peter pointer fingers to point out the rules

Tolerance of other religions and cultures - our middle finger is the tallest one and it points to heaven

Mutual Respect - our wedding finger represents respect

Individual Liberty - our little finger is all about me!

Owls Headteacher's Award winner

This young lady was nominated in the gold book for being a wonderful support to her learning partner in class and always being helpful to staff in the class. Mrs Forshaw was very impressed and chose her for this week's certificate. Well done!

Well done to to this young man for showing real resilience and working hard to improve his work this week. I'm very proud of how he now asks for support if he is struggling and the questions he wrote yesterday about animals were fantastic! Sir David Attenborough will be very impressed too!

Owls afternoon learning

What a busy week we've had so far Owls!  In PE we have continued to practise our running and dodging skills; in Art we have begun to create our Collages in the style of Eric Carle.  
In Geography we have been learning about the capital cities of the UK and in Science we have continued to learn about habitats and how to enhance our school environment.
