Penguins 14th May Home Learning

Date: 13th May 2020 @ 9:38pm

Good morning penguins!

There was some great learning again yesterday, I am so impressed with how much your writing has progressed. Wyatt produced an amazing piece of writing this week and he tried really hard with his letters.  Madeline, Erin and Archie are also working super hard on their writing, well done!

One penguin posted a really lovely idea I wanted to share with you: a hope and dreams jar. She thought about all the things she wants to do and places she wants to visit when lockdown is over, I think I am going to create one of these.  Maybe you could too?

Maths

We are going to leave numbers for this week now and look at measures today.  Can you find at least 4 containers and fill them up with different amounts of water?

Now can you put them in order?  Which one is full, which one has the least in? Try and use the language of full, half full, empty to describe what you have done.

Challenge: Can you find anything else in your house or garden to put into order?  Can you use the correct language to describe the objects?

Literacy

Have a read or watch of The Three Billy Goats Gruff story again. We are going to write about the solution today (and my video is working today!) Can you write at least 2 sentences about the solution in the story?

Challenge:  Can you use the story language to end your story?  If you put all your sentences together from this week and draw some pictures to go with it, you have written your own story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff!

Post them on the blog so I can see them!

Let’s remind ourselves of our tricky words.  Can you play tricky word flash cards?  How many can you read?  Once you’ve done this choose one other game to play.

Daily reminders:

  • Oxford owl reading
  • Purple Mash
  • Spellings

Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.

Have a great day!
