Penguins homelearning 21st April

Good morning Penguins,

We had lots of great learning yesterday, lets see if we can have even more today.  Remember to blog your answers when you have done.  Also don't forget your spellings, which are on the discussion part of your blog when you log in. 

I am really pleased that you liked the videos I added yesterday.  We are going to use these videos again and see if we can challenge ourselves a bit! I know you love a challenge!

 

Maths

I have uploaded 3 videos of the different steps we use when we add 2 groups together.

If you could answer the questions using objects easily yesterday then try to answer the questions today using drawings.  Similary, if you could add them together using drawings easily challenge yourself by using a numberline today. 

If you could use the numberline today I have a new challenge for you!

Don't forget to take a picture of your answers or you could video your answers and upload them onto your blog! There where some great examples of this I posted yesterday!

Can you answer the following questions. 

So if you can use the number line to answer the above questions can you add the 2 numbers by counting on in your head using your fingers.  Have a look at the new video to help you. 

 

Can you now spend some time on IXL Year 1 addition and see if you can practise some of your addition skills.

Literacy

We are going to continue looking at the story of the three little pigs.  Have you had chance to listen to this story?

Today we are going to write 2 sentences about the 3 Little pigs, just like we did for the wolf.  Follow the steps in the video from yesterday and I have added another little video to remind you of a couple of things. 

 

Challenge: can you add an adjective into your sentence? (purple group make sure you do this!)

 You could draw or paint a picture of them too.

Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.

Red group can you write 3 sentences, make sure they have an adjective in each one and can you use the conjunction 'and'.

I have added an alphabet card and tricky word card to help you.

 

Phonics play – time for Dragons Den today.  Remember most of you should be working on the Phase 3 sounds.  If you can do this easily challenge yourself with Phase 4!

 

Don’t forget about your purple mash activities this week too.

 

Oxford Owl

Remember to spend sometime reading today.  Which books have you been reading?  Can you add them to your blog and let other Penguins know if they are good.  Remember to talk about the stories you are reading with your grown up.  Can you answer questions about the book you have read?  Which was your favourite part?  Where was the story set?  Would you like to be in this story? Why?
