Robins Class - Home Learning 8.6.20

Date: 7th Jun 2020 @ 3:29pm

Happy Monday Robins, the start of another busy week

How was your weekend? It was a bit wet wasn't it, I hope you still managed to have fun. I pulled a muscle in my back a few weeks ago so have been trying to do strengthening exercises this weekend now it is starting to feel normal again. Emily has challenged to Mr Horsley's non-stop challenge, so I am hoping to be able to do that in the next couple of weeks.

Today's learning is as follows:

IXL

Maths - Year 2 - E.1, E.2, E.3

English - J.1, J.2

Don’t forget there are 2Dos set on Purple Mash. Times Table Rockstars is also available too, it is great to see some of you improving your times tables knowledge. Remember if you are having any problems logging on to get in touch with school and someone will help you out.

Writing Task

Unfortunately, I did not get to post Friday evening but I still checked the blog, I have attached letters/cards from Emily and Hope to this blog post for last weeks task, some excellent writing going on, well done!

This weeks writing task:

Mrs Jackson has found a wonderful writing competition for you to complete for this week's writing task. It sounds fantastic! We thought this would be a great opportunity for you to write about something you have a lot of knowledge about. The competition is asking for pieces of written work relating to any British Wildlife. Now here is the fun part, you can present your writing by constructing a story, a poem, a fact file, a diary entry - it is completely up to you. The link below will send you to the page you need to read, regarding a little more information and more importantly how to enter.

When completed, please take a picture of your writing and add it to your blog.

Now it is not a writing task without a success criteria to help you along, there are things we would still like you to include even though the way you present is not set:

Success Criteria – Writing Competition

I have written my piece about British Wildlife

I have used my own ideas and it is all my own work

I have shown an understanding of my chosen subject

I have used scientific terms e.g habitat, diet etc

I have written in full sentences

I have used capital letters and full stops

I have included adjectives

I have included conjunctions

My writing makes sense to the reader

 Good Luck and have fun

Look out for the new spelling blog posts, thank you for all who are continuing with this, keep up the good work. I have attached some photos from last week, Year 1 are smashing it!

Have a great day!
