Good Morning Swallows!!!

We were really impressed yesterday with some of your self-portraits, there are some really budding young artists amongst you all! Keep an eye out for some of your brilliant work later today, I will post some of these examples as a celebration post.   

Today’s Task:

As we are in Swallows class for next year, we would like you to research the Swallow bird. They are fantastic creatures who have a very unique life-style!

Search the internet or look in an encyclopaedia. Look in books about birds and ask your parents what you can find out about this wonderful bird. Make sure to have a look on YouTube if possible about the bird flying, they are incredibly fast!

Can you find out:

What they eat? Where do they hunt this prey?

Where do they live and do they migrate? Why do they live there?

Do they have certain colours or patterns to their feathers?

Do the males and females look the same or do they have different colours or markings?

Present your findings how you so wish, you could draw a picture of the swallow, write a paragraph or a report about them. Mind-map or make a fact-file. Here is an example for you to ‘magpie’ ideas from, forgive the pun about birds!

Don’t forget to blog you work and keep them safe, ready to bring them into school in September. We can’t wait to see you in the Swallows class!
