A few weeks worth of work with Mrs Wardle and Mrs Williams, the children have really gone above and beyond to create some wonderful songs and lyrics using instruments. Their knowledge of this topic has shone through and the lyrics to the songs really showed a deep understanding of the topic. Well done Swallows with some super learning, keep it up!

Today we went outside for our maths learning. We were consolidating our knowledge on representing numbers to 100 – children had to find objects that represented 10 and 1 and use them as part of addition. Because we were so good at that, we moved on to using the greater than, less than and equal to symbols to compare numbers. What a great lesson!

Swallows enjoyed a fabulous day at Bolton College with Blackrod Primary School! The children visited a sporting workshop run by the fabulous staff and students of the college and gained some potential new friends in the process. The children were thrilled to be able to sit and share a fun, energetic environment together and the results were fantastic! The children took part in games such as bench-ball, basketball, handball, team-building activities and football.
A really enjoyable experience and one that will be memorable for years to come. Very well done with some outstanding manners Year 3!

As part of their ongoing topic, Swallows sampled a few delicacies from the war that would have been easy to create and produce with very little ingredients. The children took it in turns to taste each product, then pass comment on their taste and texture. The children worked with their table groups and worked well as a team, leading well into the schools target for this week.
The products sampled were fruit cake, digestive biscuits, scones, sponge cake and dark chocolate. Fabulous learning Swallows!

All the children interacted extremely well as small groups to solve some tricky problems. Well done Swallows, some excellent up-leveling of your knowledge!
