We were talking about being a good friend in PSHE today when Mrs Lenagan  asked us to squeeze out toothpaste…and then put it back in! We explained that we can’t do that and then compared this to unkind words said to other people. Just like the toothpaste, the words that we say, once out are irreversible to take back.

We created profiles practicing our Safer internet rules. This included not using our full names.

Mental Health Week

This week we have been learning all about Mental Health under the theme of Find your Brave. We have listened to The Lion Inside story and talked about when we have been brave and how we felt before and after. We have also raised the profile of this by wearing our jumpers inside out…because inside matters too! The children have identified a trusted adult who could help them find their brave because being brave doesn’t mean that you have to do things all alone!

Outdoor Maths

Date: 10th Mar 2020 @ 2:23pm

Outdoor counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

The children had a great time grouping pebbles, conkers and drawing around fingers and feet to count up in 2s, 5s and 10s. The children were then challenged to cover up the number in the sequence and their partner had to work out which number was missing.

Music

Date: 10th Mar 2020 @ 2:18pm

We have been learning about pitch and exploring high and low sounds made from chime bars, glockenspiels and water bottles. We discovered that the longer the chime bar or the more empty the water bottle the lower the sound and the smaller the chime bar and fuller the water bottle the higher the pitch!

Space

Date: 10th Mar 2020 @ 2:17pm

We have been learning about the planets in our solar system. We made the mnemonic…

My
