Well done to our reading challenge winner this week who won a brand new book as his prize!

Remember you need to read 5 times a week and upload your picture to evidence me!

We had 66% of children are on green this week! I think we can get mire next week!

All about me

Date: 8th Oct 2020 @ 11:25am

This week in our challenge learning we have been making houses out of paper bags. This meant practising our scissor skills when cutting out the different shapes and it also helped us with our shape recognition! It also opened up lots of wonderful discussion about who lives in our house!

We have also been drawing around our bodies this week and naming the different parts of our body, some children challenged themselves to write labels on their drawings!

Great learning Penguins!

All about Maths

Date: 8th Oct 2020 @ 11:22am

We have really enjoyed flexing our brain muscles this week with our Maths learning. We have been busy counting different objects to 10; making sure that we touch each object as we say every number. We have build building towers of bigger numbers, which has been really tricky and we really had to concentrate when checking our towers were right! Some children even came up with their own song about numbers as they jumped on the number tiles!

Well done Penguins, you have made me super proud!

Penguin home learning!

Date: 1st Oct 2020 @ 2:04pm

We have started to get some lovely home learning into school. Thank you for those who have sent it in. I would love to see lots more though!

Penguins- Look how we have changed!

Date: 1st Oct 2020 @ 1:59pm

Thank you to everyone who has sent in baby photos! We have loved looking at these and they started lots of wonderful talking about what babies need, how they are different to us and about the babies in our own families.

Staying safe online

Date: 30th Sep 2020 @ 1:51pm

Today we have looked at what different types of technology we use at home. The children talked about the different things that they play on at home.
We then discussed how to be safe online and what to do if something comes on our screen that we don't know;TELL A GROWNUP!

We also made a video of Mummy penguins song to help us remember. Didn't they do great?

What makes us unique?

Date: 24th Sep 2020 @ 3:13pm

As part of our SMSC topic we have started to look at what makes us unique?  The children came up with some brilliant answers.  We will continue to look at this question in different ways over the next few weeks.  This is also something you could talk to your child about at home.

Birthday cards

Date: 24th Sep 2020 @ 2:58pm

As part of our topic we have been writing cards to people in our family and our friends. This has helped us to practice writing our names and for some of us writing some other trickier words.  They have done a great job!

Rainbow challenges

Date: 24th Sep 2020 @ 2:03pm

We have been really enjoying our rainbow challenges this week all to do with ourselves. We have been making faces using different loose parts and also keeping the babies nice and clean in the water tray.

Don't forget to email in your baby pictures so we can look at these next week as part of our what makes me special topic.

Exercise

Date: 17th Sep 2020 @ 2:56pm

Reception Penguins have been really enjoying doing their exercises at the end of the day this week! They are getting really good at their squats!

Making mud pies

Date: 16th Sep 2020 @ 1:48pm

We have been having a great time in our outside classroom. We have been making mud pies and making them extra special by adding rosemary and lavender from our garden! They smelt delicious! We used lots of fine motor skills to scoop and mix our pies.
