Reading Leaders 2022-2023
We are the Reading Leaders in school. We promote a love for reading and support the youngest children in school to become confident, happy fluent and independent readers.
Mission Statement
We promise to work together to help KS1 children so that they improve their reading ability.
Aims
We aim to:
Ensure that everyone will be supported at their level.
Increase everyone's ability to read.
Support the children to develop their confidence.
Autumn Term Update
We have had a busy start to our Reading role in school. We have been trained up by one of the Reading Leaders from last year and gained our certificate of achievement. We decided on our Mission Statement and Aim during one of our meetings. With our buddies, we have played outside games to support the children with the recognition of words and also listened to readers 1:1 in school. Our first assembly was a huge success! We introduced the role out of the new 100 Book Challenge and already some children have gained their Bronze Award.
This was our first whole school assembly launching the new 100 Book Challenge.
Our first training being led by a reading leader from last year.
Sometimes we read inside school 1:1 with the KS1 children using their phonics books. We write comments and give out stickers.
