Geography Quallity Mark 

The Primary Geography Quality Mark is a prestigious award which recognises and promotes quality and progress in geography leadership, curriculum development and teaching and learning in schools, and recognises the high standard of geographical teaching and learning across our school. The Primary Geography Quality Mark raises the profile of geography across the whole school community, with parents, carers, teachers, governors and children, and provides impactful and rigorous professional development alongside external validation of the quality of curriculum.

School Games Mark

The School Games Mark is a Government led award that focuses on recognising schools who show commitment to physical competitions across the school and the wider community. At The Gates, children from a range of year groups have the opportunity to attend competitions, both those within school and with other schools across our cluster, covering a wide range of sports.

Elklan Communication

Elklan Communication Friendly Setting (CFSe) accreditation is awarded to settings that have trained and support all their staff in communication and language development. Schools are required to evidence embedding this knowledge in targeted interventions and through the implementation of a Communication Policy.

The Rainbow Flag Award

The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework for primary schools. The award focuses on positive LGBT+, (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus other related identities), inclusion and visibility. The Rainbow Flag Award encourages a whole organisation approach to LGBT+ inclusion, as well as developing strategies to effectively challenge and combat LGBTphobic* bullying.  We are committed at The Gates to improving the lives of all young people as well as the LGBT+ young people in our care, those from LGBT+ families, and LGBT+ staff members.

Quality Mark in Early Years

The Quality Mark in Early Years is an external recognition of the impact of the work of leaders and practitioners in improving the quality of provision for young children and the standards they achieve. This helps our school continue to think about how to improve the quality of service offered to children and their families and provides a holistic evidence base for continuous improvement through the multi-dimensional aspect of Quality Mark.

The Eco-School Green Flag award

The Eco-Schools Green Flag acknowledges and celebrates the ecological achievements of young people. It clearly demonstrates that their hard work is appreciated and it provides them with the confidence and motivation to continue actively engaging with environmental issues now and throughout their lifetimes. It creates the next generation of innovative, inspirational environmentalists and tells local communities that a school, college or nursery is forward-thinking and actively engaged in protecting our planet.

History Quality Mark

The Historical Association Quality Mark is all about recognition of the excellent history provision that schools offer young people. The History Quality Mark is concerned with ensuring that there is effective learning through appropriate and motivating teaching that engages pupils consistently throughout the school, and ensuring that the school enriches teaching and learning in history through other subjects and resources/programmes beyond history lessons.

Arts Award Discover is an award for primary schools. To achieve an Arts Award Discover, children are required to evidence participating in arts activities, researching artists and their work and sharing their arts discoveries.

We are proud to have achieved the Gold Level of The Liverpool Reading Quality Mark. This is an award created in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, aimed at promoting reading for enjoyment.

Healthy Schools Plus is a national health promotion programme which aims to embed good practice around health issues in schools and to give children and young people the best possible opportunity to develop positive healthy behaviours. At The Gates, we have achieved the Healthy Schools Plus Award for our additional work on Healthy Relationships.
