Date: 29th Apr 2020 @ 8:59am

Good morning everyone, how is it Wednesday already?! Another great day of work yesterday from everybody. I am really impressed. I was notified that the SeeSaw tasks weren't viewable to everyone at home so the issue should have been fixed now. Apologies for any inconveniece

Todays tasks -

1) Read theory x 2

2) Times tables rockstars (20 mins)

3) LBQ code - eif

English - punctuating parenthesis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jLJT4qjo18)

Maths - Area of irregular shape.

This is the last of your area lessons for this week. I am working on some short videos to go over some misconceptions and hopefully post them daily to help with input in future. For this lesson, you will not be able to use the formula length x width. So you will need to use the squares to count them up (some squares will not be complete however).

As you can see here, we cannot apply the forumal for finding the area of quadrilaterals (length x width). For this shape we can only estimate (a rough guess) the area. For this I have numbered squares along the outside that I think I could combine to make 1 whole suware and given them the same number. Then I have given my whole squares individual numbers. This made around 12 in total (it was actually just under 12 as my last square was not quite a whole, but because it said estimate I decided 12 was the closest answer).

4) Writing task - Use your plan to write your first draft. You can proof read today and do a more detailed editing tomorrow.

5) Afternoon topic lesson -  Use the topic webs to complete an activity and upload to SeeSaw.smiley

Have a nice day everyone. Keep an eye out for my videos later on in the day.
