Owls Class Home Learning – 17.04.20

Date: 17th Apr 2020 @ 8:54am

Hello my little pineapples!

I hope you all had a good Thursday! Did any if you go outside to clap for our carers? I did and saw lots of people outside their front doors clapping, banging pots and pans and blowing whistles. I could also hea fireworks and car horns. It’s great that we can all come together and show our appreciation for those who are looking after us during this time.

So we sent out new usernames and passwords for IXL yesterday, which unfortunately means we’ve lost all of the points we scored last time. However when I logged on, children in Robins and Owls managed to answer 5216 questions in one day! That’s amazing! Well done my little pepperoni pizzas!

A big shout out to Callum who answered 314 questions and Layton who answered 276 – I’m very impressed boys!!

Oxford Owl, the company that we use for our home reader books have made a number of books available online whilst schools are closed. Please follow the link below. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

Children can then chose which book band colour they are on using the ‘levels’ tab.

Then click on ‘book band’.

You may need to sign up to the website to access some of the books.

This is a great opportunity for children to continue their reading journey with books that are age and topic appropriate.

Today’s home learning is:

IXL:

Maths – Year 2 – Measurement – R4, R5, R6

English – Year 2 – Verbs – O4, O5, O6

Don’t forget there are 2Dos set on Purple Mash and Read Theory has some reading comprehensions available too.

Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend – let’s hope the sun stays out!
