Penguins 21st May Home Learning

Date: 21st May 2020 @ 8:06am

Good morning penguins!

Hope you all had a great day in the sun yesterday, we had the paddling pool out here!

I have loved looking at your purple mash pictures this week, there are some fab pictures of Little Red Riding hood!  I have added some onto the end of the blog for you to look at!

Maths

We are continuing to look at shapes.  Remember we are working towards being able to name them all but also to use the correct language to describe them.

Today I have posted a video all about the sphere and one about the cone.  Can you find all the things in your house that are a spheres and cones? List them or take pictures.  You could even see what spheres and cones you can see on your daily exercise.

Choose one of the spheres and one of the cones you have found and can you describe the shape to your grown ups using the correct language, edges, vertices and faces.

Challenge: Choose one of the shapes you have learnt about this week and ask your grownup to film you describing the shape using the correct language.  I can’t wait to see these.

Literacy

Watch the video of me reading our story this week.

Using the videos from past weeks remind yourself of how we write about the solution.  I haven’t done a new one as I want to see if you can write it on your own. Can you write at least 2 sentences to describe the solution of our story?

Challenge:  Can you use the story language to finish your story?

Write your sentence after your sentences from yesterday, you have now written your own story.  Can you draw some pictures about your story now?

Phase 3 buried treasure today.  Remember you can do phase 2 or 4 if you need to. Try and practise those sounds that you are not sure on to help them stick.

Daily reminders:

  • Purple Mash
  • Spelling

Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.

Have a great day!
