Penguins home learning 22nd April

Date: 21st Apr 2020 @ 3:39pm

Good morning penguins, how are you all today?

Hope you all slept well and are ready for another day of learning, because you all seem to be enjoying my videos so much I have made some more for today.

Maths

Recap how to add using the videos I have posted this week.

Can you choose 2 numbers from 0-10 and add them together.  Your grown up could write these on little bits of paper for you to choose from.  Write them in a number sentence and then work the answer out.  Remember to challenge yourself with the method you use.  I will add a video as an example. Please do at least 5 sums more would be fab!

Challenge: You can use bigger numbers to make it more of a challenge.

Can you now spend some time on IXL Year 1 addition and see if you can practise some of your addition skills.

Don't forget to blog your learning so I can see.

Literacy

We are still looking at the story of the three little pigs so can you re watch or read the story.

Today we are going to look at the house made of sticks.

Can you write 2 sentences about the house made of sticks? Check out the video for help.

Don't forget what a good sentence needs.

Challenge: can you add an adjective into your sentence? (purple group make sure you do this!)

Red group can you write 3 sentences, make sure they have an adjective in each one and use the conjunction 'and'.

Use your alphabet cards to help you.

Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.

Phonics play – lets do the flash card challenge today.  How many sounds can you read in the time given?  Can you blog your answers to let me know! Remember to work on Phase 3 unless you know them all, if you do try phase 4!

Remember spellings are on your blogs to practise for Friday.

Don’t forget about your purple mash activities this week too.

Oxford Owl

Remember to spend sometime reading today.  Which books have you been reading?  Can you add them to your blog and let other Penguins know if they are good.  Remember to talk about the stories you are reading with your grown up.  Can you answer questions about the book you have read?  Which was your favourite part?  Where was the story set?  Would you like to be in this story? Why?
