Penguins 20th May Home Learning
Date: 20th May 2020 @ 8:22am
Good morning penguins!
Hope you are all doing ok. It looks like a really sunny day today so think there will be lots of time spent in the garden.
Don’t forget to look at my running challenge blog today, Phoenix, Emily and Archie I’ve nominated you three to see how long you can run for without stopping. Once you’ve done it add it to the blog and nominate 5 of your friends.
Maths
We are continuing to look at shapes. Remember we are working towards being able to name them all but also to use the correct language to describe them.
Today I have posted a video all about the cylinder. Can you find all the things in your house that are a cylinder, you could list them or take pictures of them? You could even see what spheres you can see on your daily exercise.
Choose one of the cylinders you have found and can you describe the shape to your grown ups using the correct language, edges, vertices and faces.
Literacy
Watch the video of me reading our story this week.
Using the videos from past weeks remind yourself of how we write about the problem. I haven’t done a new one as I want to see if you can write it on your own. Can you write at least 2 sentences to describe the problem of our story?
Challenge: Can you use the story language to carry your story on e.g. But
Write your sentence after your sentences from yesterday so you can build up a story over the week.
Phase 3 giggling grapheme. Remember you can do phase 2 or 4 if you need to.
Daily reminders:
- Oxford owl reading
- Purple Mash
- Spelling
Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.
Have a great day!
