Hope you have had a great weekend. The weather hasn’t been all that good so at my house we made some cakes. They were very tasty. Do you like them? What have you done?

  

Special Mentions

Last week ended so well with the Star of the Week and the Golden Book nominations! Well done again to Casey for being last weeks star and to Shane and Cullen for their nominations in the Golden Book. It was a lovely surprise to find out that Mrs Forshaw had chosen Cullen for the Head teacher’s award! It has got me thinking, who will it be next week? We’ve got our eyes on the blog, IXL and Purple Mash. Watch this space...

 

When I checked the blog last night, I was super impressed with Jacob and Jack’s letters to Captain Tom. Well done boys. Joseph has done some great work that his Auntie has sent him. I wonder if you will be making a time capsule? It is also lovely to see one of our Puffins busy with lego and reading to teddy bears.

English Year 2 H6 (links to online phonics work), J1 (clap out the syllables as you say it… like my name len…a..gan!), 0.4 (remember our SPAG work on singular and plural words? Well, this will help you. Think, is it one SINGLE thing or more than one, so PLURAL?

Phonics 'wh'

I have noticed a decrease in the views of the phonics. It is so important that you keep watching and joining in our phonics sessions. This is why I am taking the time to record the tutorials online for you. If you can learn all the sounds from Phase 5 and read with them and write with them, then you will have a perfect starting point for Year 2. Keep up your good work! I can see some fabulous results in spellings too which is all linked.
