Good morning all!

I hope Monday went ok for you all, time sems to have stopped in a lot of ways. I visited our class yesterday as part of a tidy-up operation I thought I would run, but there were no children in there! No PODS being tapped and certainly no laughter echoing down the hall! I have missed you all, there's no doubt about it and I there are lots of things we must never take for granted again after this is over with! Get ready for another brilliant day, remember to keep smiling and having fun in the sun (if there is any!). Some great home learning taking place, here's Harrison catching the sun looking like Jordan Pickford, great kits Harrison!

Take time to think of others today Swallows, that is all I would ask of you today.

Weekly Writing Task

Remember, on your Purple Mash 2do list is a Volcano writing task. I would like you to complete this by Friday and save it on Purple Mash or if you prefer, you can complete it on paper and upload it onto our blog.

Our Weekly Recommendation

Every week we will share with you one of our favourite recommendations to support you at home.

This week is about daily fitness alongside our spellings. We have set you 10 spellings this week to practise. As you practise, why don’t you give this fitness key a try. For every letter from the word, there is an action to do.

Here is today’s learning:

LBQ Code: ygz (all lowercase)

There are 3 tasks, please complete all 3 tasks. If you get stuck, read the information given. Also, going on to IXL to practise similar questions may also help.

We know that the questions can get very tricky towards the end. Give them all a go. If you really struggle, especially with the maths, you can stop at question 20. With the English tasks, I would like you to finish.

Afternoon task

Just a couple of things to clarify about the afternoon task for this week. I would like you to research volcanoes, this should help with your WRITING task for the week by giving you a basic overview of volcanoes themselves and where they are located in the world (a lovely bit of Geography thrown in!). There doesn't have to be much writing involved, just a sentence or two for 3 or 4 questions. Try and answer the following (use these in your research):

What is a volcano?

How is a volcano formed?

What are the names of some famous volcanoes?

Where are these volcanoes located?

This should then help with the English writing task on Purple Mash also.

Other ideas:

IXL – Visit this site every week to practise some of the learning in the Year 3 Maths and English sections (passwords are your child’s full name in lowercase letters followed by 460 (mrpryle460). Password is qwerty).

Read Theory – Complete a reading comprehension every day if you can as part of your reading challenge

Times Tables Rock Stars – visit this at least 3 times a week to practise your times tables.

Purple mash is great for research...

Enjoy today, stay safe with your families and remember that every cloud has a silver lining!

Ciao bella,

Mr P 🌈🌈🌈
