Swallows Class Home Learning 17.04.20

Date: 17th Apr 2020 @ 9:22am

Day 28 everyone, a strange day yesterday, lots of sunshine!

Now, this is what madness looks like. My wife rigged up a great contraption yesterday Swallows. A Coca-Cola bottle that became a fountain. Have a go Swallows if we get some nice weather again, holes in the bottom and the hosepipe in the top, a good bit of fun! Can you tell how we are spending our time at the moment?!!

Needless to say, the children loved it for about 10 minutes, then it became too cold! I hope you all had a little time in the sunshine before the cold wind came. Take care and get lots of sun-cream on!

I had a great chat with some of your parents yesterday Swallows, you are very lucky to have such great, supporting parents. I will be in contact with as many as I can today and next week, just to have a quick catch-up! Keep up that effort for them also, it is a strange time for us all. Keep focused on your learning again today as the day goes, the IXL passwords are in full swing now so make sure to have a go at these tasks also.

Here comes the shout’s…

Harrison Gaskell, online as soon as the LBQ passwords were set up yesterday (8:30am approximately) 30 house-points to you young man!!

Hayden, top stuff again – I think you boys must be getting up out of bed at about 6am!

Jenson Barr, Dario Osipinski, Maisie Moss, Ava Mills, Alfie Priestley, Hibah Faruqui, Olivia Bealey, Isabella Lockwood, Viyan Patel and Lewis Vernon – 10 of the finest house points!!!

Keep smiling as this new day arrives, think of your loved ones, get some tunes on Swallows to relax to children. I was listening to Oasis whilst working yesterday, just to drown out the noise of two very bored children throwing water at each other! Maybe find out what your parents like and maybe have a listen…

Today’s home learning is:

Another bit of news for all you home learners:

Oxford Owl, the company that we use for our home reader books have made a number of books available online whilst schools are closed. Please follow the link below.

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

Children can then choose which book band colour they are on using the ‘levels’ tab.

The click on ‘book band’.

You may need to sign up to the website to access some of the books.

This is a great opportunity for children to continue their reading journey with books that are age and topic appropriate.

Hope this helps and keep those smiles large and wide!

Stay safe, Mr Pryle 🌈 🌈 🌈
