Kingfishers Home Learning 24th June

Date: 24th Jun 2020 @ 6:58am

Good morning everyone!

There has been some superb work completed over the past few days - I am really impressed with some of your efforts. I really enjoyed this piece of writing from last week by Esmee in particular.

Here are Zac's wonderful instructions on how to catch a dragon! I can tell he has worked really hard on this.

Here are Fletchers instructions, he is producing excellent work consistently at the moment! I am really impressed.

I did log on to check how many people had logged onto Reading Solutions and I was slightly disappointed with how many daily readers we have had in Kingfishers so far (there are still people yet to log on at all - I can seeeeeee youuuuuuwink). Reading Solutions is a fantastic program and we are lucky to be the only year group in school to use it currently - we need to make the most of itsmiley.

Reception New Starters - Storytime with Mrs Jarrett

Date: 23rd Jun 2020 @ 7:38pm

Hi everybody,

It's Mrs Jarrett, one of the teachers in your new Penguin class.  I can't wait to get to know you all more and find out more about you.  I will be posting lots of blogs with stories and activities you can do at home so please keep checking back.

Today I have added the story of the Gruffalo; this is one of my favourite stories, I love reading it to my own children. After you have watched the story, can you think of what your favourite food is?  Is it scrambled snake, roasted fox, owl icecream or even Gruffalo crumble? My favourite food is yummy fruit salad.

I hope you enjoy the story.

Mrs Jarrett

Penguin 24.6.20 home learning

Date: 23rd Jun 2020 @ 7:18pm

Good morning penguins!

There has been some amazing Gruffalo pictures and models being posted this week, I love looking at them.  I would love to see some more, I have added the story again if you want to watch it again.

Maths

Recap on part part whole again by watching Monday’s video.  Can you solve these part part whole problems?  How many different ways can you make 18 and 20?

Again, ask your grown up to put some numbers in some of the circles to help you find the missing number.

Challenge: can you write what you have found as number sentences?

Literacy

Today we are going to look at reading the ‘ar’ sound.  Watch the video and follow the instructions.

Daily reminders:

  • Oxford owl reading
  • Purple Mash
  • Spellings

Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.

Have a great day!

I have added the story for you to watch again if you want.
