Great work in Geograohy this week!
Eagles carried out an experiment to recreate the effects of the water cycle. The also recorded themselves talking through the water cycle process using key terminology.

This week's Star of the Week, Times Table Rockstars Champion and Spelling Shed Champion
Well done to this week's Star of the Week. This person has shown excellent engagement across all areas of the school curriculum and even put in an excellent effort at this week's physical activity challenge.
Leon practised his spellings for this week 96 times at home!
Zac practised on TTRs for an average of 15mins a day - 1hr 45mins this week!

It's been such a shame not to have been able to welcome Eagles Class back after Christmas as planned, but that hasn't stopped the children producing some fantastic learning outcomes at home this week.

Eagles class has been busy creating Christmas cards and 2021 calendars. They have drawn round stencils, measured, cut, glued and made bows.

Eagles class really enjoyed their field trip to Rivington today.
They did really well to make it to the top and ticked off one of The Gates' Great Expectations as they did.
The weather held up and we got to apply some of our map skills at the top.

Eagles class has investigated cam mechanisms and made a simple cam. Later this week, the children will use their designs to produce their finished products.

In writing, the children positioned the modal verbs in order of their possibility so as to use these when writing their nature documentaries in later lessons. They worked really well in their groups and produced really positive outcomes!

Eagles class had a great Music lesson this week. They started to learn a song for our Christmas performance and will continue to practise it throughout the week. Eagles also practised our Rock song, 'Livin On A Prayer' and completed rhythm activites based around it.

In P.E, the children used their understanding of body management with more challenging movements such as forward rolls, arabesques, press ups, side supports and splits which require strength, stamina and suppleness. All showed a strong sense of enjoyment and engagement today!

In reading, the children took on the roles of the characters from "The Boy With The Bronze Axe" and put together a role-play of what has happened in the chapter that was read this week. Some super performances!

Monday afternoons are a great opportunity for Eagles class to develop their fitness, time-management and leadership skills. As well as completing skipping, the distance run, shuttle run and speed bounce, Eagles also participated in the standing long-jump and chest push events.
This week's leaders were Akshay, Dennis, Finlay, Imogen, Jessica, Leon, Olly, Oscar and Parthiv. They set up six activities, measured distances, recorded times and ensured that everyone competed.
The most notable improvements have been in the children's skipping scores - well done everyone!

Eagles have been working well in their French lessons. They have had lots of speaking and listening practise and can write short conversations to present themselves. Eagles have also developed their rapping skills in French and can perform the following rap:
