Nursery Home Learning 15th June

Date: 14th Jun 2020 @ 10:00pm

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I was very busy playing golf and planting some new flowers in my garden yesterday.

I also got some new storybooks which I'm excited to share with you this week! I can't wait to upload them onto the blog.

I am very impressed with the challenges some of you completed last week. It would be great if a few more Penguins gave them a go too and posted them onto the blog for me to see.

I wanted to choose a story that we all know and love this week! So our challenges are going to be all about 'Superworm' which is one of our favourites in Penguin class. Have a go today's challenges and let me know how you get on.

Challenge 1:

All superheroes need a cape! Can you design a new superhero cape for Superworm to wear on his adventures?

Challenge 2:

Have a fantastic day!

Penguin 15th June Home learning

Date: 14th Jun 2020 @ 8:10pm

Good morning penguins!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, it was so nice to have the sun shining again and we have spent lots of time in the garden.

We are going to start doing something a little bit different with our home learning.  I want us to focus on our phonics to make sure those sounds are really secure in our heads. Each day I will add a new phonics video that will help us recap or learn one of our phase 3 sounds.  You will need a piece of paper and pencil or whiteboard and whiteboard pen so you can join in whilst watching the video.

Maths

We are continuing to look at part part whole this week but using drawings instead of objects.  Watch the video and have a go by joining in.  Once you’ve watched the video, how many ways can you find to make 12?

Challenge: can you write what you have found as number sentences?

Literacy

Today we are going to look at the ‘oa’ sound.  Watch the video and follow the instructions.

If your where in red group you are working in a different phonics phase so can you go to Mrs Lenagans phonics page and start at the beginning of her videos.  The fist one is ‘ay’.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6reMTNSN4nHNuRla1kULiA/videos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=0

Daily reminders:

  • Oxford owl reading
  • Purple Mash
  • Spellings

Don’t forget to upload your pictures on the blog so I can see what you have been doing.

Have a great day!

Woodpecker Class Amazing Work Celebration

Date: 12th Jun 2020 @ 3:45pm

Hi Woodpeckers!!

Once again, you have had a wonderful week. Well done. I would like to share with you all some of the amazing work coming through.

LBQ Shout Outs:

So many of you have kept yourself busy this week and have been completing LBQ everyday. I am so impressed. If you have been on LBQ and completed all of your tasks everyday then I have awarded you 20 house points each so make sure you keep note of them. More or less the whole class has completed their tasks – how amazing is that!

Next week we are going to use one or two other things to help us with our home learning. We will still use LBQ some days, but other days we are going to try something new. Keep checking the daily blogs to find out more!

Here are some work shares:

Well done Oliver B, this is a detailed character description. Excellent vocab too!

The detail in Heidi’s character is impressive. What a fantastic character Heidi.

Here is Henry’s description of his character. You have written it so well Henry that I can imagine exactly what it looks like!

And here is Archie’s. Just as detailed and just as impressive. Well done!

Here is Oliver BS’s Olympic Stadium. Perfect for viewing all those sports tournaments.

This is an impressive model of an Olympic stadium from Kate. What a detailed model.

Emelia found out all about Ellie Downie, a famous Olympian. Lots of detailed facts Emelia, well done.

Here is Clayton’s model of a stadium. It even has spectators. They are enjoying the competition.

Freyja’s stadium can host many different sports. What a detailed model.

Henry has built his own stadium model using a variety of resources. It’s brilliant Henry, make sure you find a good place to display it.

Rebecca, your stadium is so colourful. I think it is perfect for hosting all those sports. Well done.

Wowsers Woodpeckers! Now it is easy to see why I am so impressed. Well done.

Enjoy your weekend and I will blog again on Monday, ready for a new week.

It has been a really difficult choice again this week, as we have seen so much incredible home learning and such amazing attitudes and effort in school. Henri has shone out as someone who has given 100% to everything he has been challenged with this week. He has applied himself, listened to new rules and routines and been an incredible friend to the whole class. We love this attitude Henri, you have brought sunshine into our Bubble this week!

GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL!

Well done Harrison! You truly have been an inspiration young man throughout this period of lockdown. I awoke on Tuesday this week, added my LBQ tasks and before I had made my morning ‘brew’, saw that you had started the LBQ tasks and were firing through some tricky fractions adding! You have shown some outstanding resilience to keep going, your Mum and Dad will be very proud of a student that has come a very long way to the Swallow we see before us now. I must say a great big thank-you for how your attitude has allowed me to teach in class, manners for you are second to none and I have truly missed that cheeky laugh! Keep working as hard as you can and your effort will be rewarded, staring with this certificate!

Fractions learning this week has at time been very tricky, but credit to you all who have stick with it and perservered. This is an insoiration to me, I cannot tell how much it means for those of you who feel so very far away to attamept some of the learning set, whatever from this may take, it shows that you care! On the flip side to that, I love to hear and see that you are taking the rime to enjoy this period with family, you are making the best of a difficult period but it is a joy to see that time spent with families. I am a great believer that spending time togteher can be of vital improtanace and I wish some of you would help me to do things like ironing and baking – trust me, I need help! To all of you out there please rememeber, ‘life is like a box of choclates, you never know what you are going to get…’

Enjoy yourselves this weekend, spread your wings Swallows!
